New Vision Medical Stabilization Service Services

New Vision

Take Charge of Your Life with the Help of New Vision

New Vision is a medical stabilization service for people with drug, alcohol, and health related issues. The use and abuse of alcohol and/or other chemicals can disrupt a person's life in many ways. Loss of job, breakup of marriages and families, loss of self-esteem, and even loss of life can result from the continued abuse of substances without proper treatment. However, with stabilization, and an ongoing desire to remain free of the burden of substance abuse, many individuals can resume and maintain healthy lifestyles.

New Vision accepts appropriate patients who are experiencing incapacitation due to the effects of drugs, alcohol, or acute withdrawal symptoms. New Vision is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and the program accepts traditional Medicaid, Medicare, and most commercial insurance plans for inpatient treatment.

Inpatient Stabilization*

The service begins with a medically supervised hospital stay at Santa Rosa Medical Center for the inpatient treatment phase, which typically lasts 3 days. Upon admission, initial assessments of the patient's fundamental needs are accomplished. These assessments include a medical history, physical, a complete laboratory workup, and a nursing assessment.

Discharge planning will be done prior to leaving Santa Rosa Medical Center, the patient will be referred to appropriate community based aftercare programs. The goal of these support groups is to blend education for all patients regarding chemical dependency with practical methodologies to prevent relapse.

The Medical Treatment Team is comprised of qualified hospital staff, including the medical director and nursing staff, whom utilize their training and experience to ensure that each person receives the attention necessary for safe medical stabilization at the hospital.

*The diagnosis of need for inpatient admission can only be made by a licensed physician.
