Santa Rosa Medical Center Kicks Off Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive to Support Local Food Banks
3/3/2025
Milton, FL (March 3, 2025) Today, Santa Rosa Medical Center kicked off its annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive benefitting Feeding the Gulf Coast and FoodRaising Friends, Inc, and is inviting community members to participate in this effort to fight hunger in the local area. Peanut butter (and other nutritious nut/seed butters) is a sought after item for food banks because of its high nutritional value and long shelf life. Yet, it is one of the least donated items. The Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive kicks off on March 3 and will run through March 24.
“SRMC not only supports the patients who come through our doors, we are also committed to supporting better health throughout our community,” said Mike Nordness, CEO. “According to Feeding the Gulf Coast, an estimated 1 in 5 people are facing food insecurity in our area, which has a profound impact on overall health and well-being. With the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive we can help two vital organizations reduce hunger in our community.”
Santa Rosa Medical Center will have multiple collection points for jars of peanut butter (plastic jars of any size) available at its hospital and offsite clinics:
- Hospital Visitor Entrance & Outpatient Registration: 6002 Berryhill Rd
- SRMC FSED: 4250 Woodbine Rd
- SRMC Medical Office Building: 5992 Berryhill Rd
- Medical Group Clinics: Avalon, Dogwood, Five Points, Woodbine, Navarre, Orthopedics, & Doctor's Park OBGYN

Last year, SRMC donated over 700 jars of peanut butter to each FoodRaising Friends and Feeding the Gulf Coast. This year, they hope to collect a total of at least 2,000 jars to split between the two food banks.
