Santa Rosa Medical Group OB/GYN Grows, Adding Two New Providers

MILTON, Fla. - Santa Rosa Medical Group (SRMG) is adding another board-certified physician and its first board-certified midwife to its growing group of women’s health and OB/GYN providers.
Dennis Atienza, D.O., a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, and Jennifer Pearcy, MSN, NM/WHNP-BC, a board-certified midwife, are joining Santa Rosa Medical Group - OB/GYN.
Dr. Atienza earned his medical degree from the Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his residency at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine at Mercy General Health Partners in Muskegon, Mich. He was on active duty as an OB/GYN in the U.S. Navy Medical Corp for 5 1/2 years. Dr. Atienza is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He returns to northwest Florida after spending the last two decades working for hospital systems in Indiana and Illinois.
Pearcy is Santa Rosa Medical Group’s first employed midwife. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., after completing her undergraduate degree in nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. She is board certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) Nurse-Midwifery/Midwifery. Before joining SRMG, Pearcy spent the last decade in labor and delivery units and clinical education settings. She has dedicated parts of her career to caring for our nation's military families overseas.
Atienza and Pearcy will join Dr. Sue George, Dr. Genevieve Hinks, and Dr. E. Jennifer Esses expanding the women’s health services offered by Santa Rosa Medical Center. Atienza and Pearcy are accepting new patients at the Milton OBGYN office at 6072 Doctors Park Road. Dr. Atienza will also see patients at the Navarre Parkway office in Navarre.
